At a meeting of creditors of a taxidriver, Greswick Craig, a story was told of an unlucky speculation which speedily landed the bankrupt in trouble (says tiio Auckland ''Star'-'). He and another joined to import a motorcar from America, and when it arrived they were at the end of their cash resources, and were delayed for some time in getting together enough cash to pay the Customs dues. Then the car had depreciated in value, and the deal resulted in a loss. Craig, who was working on wages, eventually fifed his schedule, showing liability of £3B and assets of £.B, but other creditors appeared later, increasing the liabilities to about £BO. It was decided by the creditors to insist on the' bankrupt supplying the Assignee with a complete statement of the particulars of his deal.
