MINUTES. pzMBM uaoejtnov twjwmjts WELLINGTON, July 23, In the House of Bepresentatives early this evening, an Imprest Supply Bill for £3,464,623 was introduced by Governor-General's Message, ■Mr.; Sullivan complained of the delay in carrying out the Hijey scheme of improvement for the railway, "between Ohristohureh and Lyttelton. He pointed out that the Primo Minister had promised four years ago that this Work would be gone on with as one of urgency, but nothing had been done. Mr Mwssey Baid that many urgent matters had cropped up in those four years,'which had interfered. The Minister of Public Works', be believed would before long announce the Department's intentions in connexion with this matter, which would show the long-suffering people of Canterbury that his (Mr Massey's) promises were going to be redeemed. v , The Bill wbb read a peoond time on the voices, and put through Committee without amendment, read a third time, and passed., The House rose at 8.40 pjn. till 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
