DUNEDIN EXHIBITION.
POSSIBLE VISIT BY DUKE OF YORK. (SPECM. TO "THE PRESS.") I DUNEDIN, July 18. At a meeting of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition Company, the 'secretary of the Otago Expansion League wrote: "For some time paßt persistent and circumstantial rumours have been afloat that H.R.H. .the Duke of York, accompanied by the Duchess, proposed to Make a tour of the Dominion during "1925. My League, therefore, respectfully suggests to your directorate that they might through the proper channel ascertain if such a journey is being arranged, and if so issue an in vitation to their Eoyal Highnesses to open the Exhibition officially in Dunedin in November, 19215.'' It was decided to obtain further information on the matter. Mr Findlay, secretary of the Auckland Provincial Industrial Association, wrote: "I have pleasure in iflforming you that at the monthly meeting of the Auckland Executive it Was unanimously agreed to appoint Mr J. A. C. Allum (president) the Auckland commissioner for your Exhibition. It was also resolved that this Association does not favour a separate court or building for New Zealand manufactures, and recommends that the various exhibits be grouped as far as possible, so that a close comparison with similar overseas exhibits can be made. 4 The ground is now clear for action, and my Association is prepared to co-operate in any way that will assist your directors in making the Exhibition a thorough success, and one worthy of the Dominion,"
The letter was received with much satisfaction by the directors, and it was decided that aB far as possible every consideration should be given to the wiflhes of exhibitcis. It was also decided to get into touch with the Wellington and Canterbury Associations.
