RICHMOND SCHOOL.
QUESTION OF REBUILDING. When the report of the Buildings Committee was being dealt with at yesterday's meeting of the Canterbury Education Board, there waa a short discussion on a clause relating to the Kichmond School. The clause was as follows: —The Department advised a grant for the rebuilding of the school. It was decided to inform the Department that if the cost exceeded £9OOO the Board would not accept any further responsibility in the matter. Mr W. H. Winsor expressed, the opinion that tenders should be called for the work. A motion to this effect was carried. Mr E. H. Andrews said that the Board could not guarantee that it would accept a tender. Mr Winsor said that all builders wanted to know was that they would receive a fair deal., A further motion, that the Board should be bound to accept a tender, lapsed.
