Private despatches' indicate that thousands of acres of crop have been ploughed under, while other areas have been burned black, and important lands will scarcely return seed. Official despatches indicate that cropsaving rains fell in North Alberta and in South and Central Saskatchewan. Excessive droughts, however, are still continuing in North 'Saskatchewan. Winnipeg grain dealers freely predict that wheat will shortly, reach 1.50 dollars a bushel. . Maize also has made a sensational advance, owing tp adverse crop reports from Ohio and Indiana.
