The Government, however,'? was awaiting* further information.', , The Mexican Government had been i informed that Mr Cummins would leave upon the arrival of Sir Thomas i Hoblcx. on a mission of enquiry with i'a I view to regularising Anglo-Mexican relations. The Mexican Government had alsti been informed that if it took steps against Mr Cummins with .which 'the British Government did not Sir Thomas Hobler 'fi mission woiiild nijt 1 be proceeded with. Mr Mac Donald agreed that' "the trouble was due -.to J£r Cummins's representations . on behalf of the rights of British, subjects in Mexico. His latest action referred to a British J woman whose property, the Mexican Government wished to seize. *
