POULTRY CLUB.
The Christchurch Poultry Club met last night, Mr G. E. Jeffreys presiding over a. large attendance. Mr C. M. Corbelt, Inyercargill, an exhibitor at the show .of fancy pigeons, wrote asking if the club would supply him with a new set of prize carSi won by him at tho show. The reijuost was granted.. The New Zealand DucTi ?.uo wrote expressing .appreciation of the manner in which' tho ducks were staged at tho recent show.. •Mr y W. Gordon, Oamaru, wrote asking why his Pekin hen was not awarded tho special for the best Pekin in the' show. The secretary explained that Mr tiordbn'a being the reserve bird was only allotted the Bantam Club's special prize open to the members of that club only. The chairman" reported on tho recent show and thanked the c>« v members on the splendid rally made by them and tho assistance given .in helping to dipmantl© tho plaint and clean up tho barracks. The prize money was passed for payment and *i!l be paid in the club's rooms from 7 p.m. to '9.80 phn. on Saturday next. The Ashburton Poultry Club wrote stating that they had received a splendid entry in their cat aoction, and' arn.ying for the necessary plant for staging the cats. The recrucst was granted.
