The City Council has received an offer from a Wellington firm who are erecting a special -type of flood lamp in English Park, for the trial of a similar lamp in Cathedral square, without cost to the Council. The Electricity Committee has accepted the offer, but proposes to erect the lamp in Victoria square, ■where its effect can lie better judged as being free from the glare of the various electric signs in Cathedral square.
