LYTTELTON NEWS.
Football. A football match, p!aycd between teams representing the Lyttelton District High School and the West Lyttelton fcchool, was played at Officers' Point yesterday afternoon. The result wa3 a win for the former by 6 points to 3. Mr M. Claid was referee. Road Repairs, The work of relaying the surface of Norwich quay, from the tieamfen'a Institute to Dublin stTcct, is now in hand. A portion of the road at the eastern end has been scarified, and broken metal to a depth of eight inches put down. This will be rolled later. From Oxford street to Dublin street the rond will be put down in tarred mucadam. St. Joseph's Church. A confirmation service was conducted at St. Joseph's Church on Sunday afternoon by hn Loraship Bishop Brodie assisted by the Rev. Father P. Cooney. The ceremony was the first .of. its kind for four years. Between fifty and sixty were presented, including"- a number of adult converts. The service was. very impressive, and the Bishop gave an address on "The Sacrament of Confirmation." His Lord:hip pronounced the Benediction at the close of the service.
