SCHOOL OF ART SKETCH CLUB.
Fifty sketches were hung for exhibition at the School of Art Sketch Club on Saturday evening, when iVlr Cecil Kelly acted as critic. A distinct advance in quality was noticeable in the work, somq very commendable studies being shown, and Mr Kelly said,, in his opening- remarks, that hits talk would be more of an appreciation • than a, criticism. As usual, water colours predominated, but the oil studies showri were of high merit. An interesting set of pencil drawings wero quite a feature of the exhibition. The. competitive subject for the ■ month was "Nocturne," the prize being awarded to Mr A. E". Wildey. The function closed with a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Kelly, which was moved by Miss "M. O. Stodart.
