TO THK EDITOR OF "THI PRESS. Sir,—Will you kindly allow me space in your columns to draw the a..icnuon of the Tramway .Management to an intolerable nuisance caused b} the fearful rooking of the tram curs on the Sumner line between Clifton and Heatheote bridges, and more particularly when crossing the embankment at McCorniack's Bay. whereat is enough to throw passengers oft u-ir seatsr It is no exaggeration to say tlna it is verv cimikr to a prolonged severe earthquake. 1 have heard ot children being sick through u. and even adults often fee.mg inclined to give vent to their feeling's, in t-lie same way. This trouble has been going ou for a very long time, but it seems to lie nobody's business to attend to. or remedy it. It is so bad at times that the bodies of the cars seem as though they would be thrown off their carriages. Is it no part of the duty of the motonnen, conductors, or inspectors to report this sort of tiling, or even a member of the Tramway Board (who regularly makes use of' this line) _to move in the matter, without waiting for the public to do mm-—Yours, etc., RATEPAYER.
