BRIGHTON DOMAIN FETE.

Tho final meeting cf the committee in connexion with the big fete which is being held at New Brighton next Saturday, took place in the CounciP Chambers on Tuesday, Mr J. H. Shaw presiding. The collector, <_r. T. Bobinson, announced that cash subscriptions to date totalled £93 14a 6d, and it was confidently hoped that JEICO would hs reached by fete day. Messrs F. Kibblewhite and E. T. Sugden were appointed starters for the children's races, and (Messrs W. E. Leadiey and H. A. Bishop judges. Authority was given to the executive of the Council Employees' Association to run off three or four races during the afternoon. Thers will not be room to run the 440 yards handicap inside the sports ground, but this may taie place either lip Nelson street, finishing inside the sports ground, or down the track through the Domain from Norton strset to Nelson street. Nine entries were received for the Marathon race, starting from Wainoni and finishing in the sports grounds at 3.30 p.m. It was reported that Miss Tiileyshort's Jam Orchestra far ths dance on th 9 specially prepared green would consist of a piano, saxophone, xylophone and violin. It was announced that a group' photograph of all those in fancy costume wou'd be taken on the ground at 1.30 p.m. The fender of the New Brighton Band for music waa accepted. The Caledonian Band had also been previously arranged for. The chairman thanked all present for their enthusiasm and their services, and said he felt sure the fete would be the most successful function ever held in New Brighton.
