TERRITORIAL TRAINING.

THE BURNHAM CAMP. The 4th Cadet Battalion (Canterbury Regiment), arid fifty specially-chosen cadets from the evening parades, are to go into camp for training at Burnham. Altogether about 130 will enter camp on the Thursday before Easter, remaining there until Easter Monday 'evening. Preference will be given to cadets outside the special training platoon who have volunteered to go into the non-commissioned officers' training classes, and who will eventually become non-commissioned officers in the Cadet Battalion.

The men of the Southern Depot, New Zealand Engineers, 150 who entered camp on Saturday, have been undergoing comprehensive specialist courses in engineering under Major It. A. Row, D.S.O. On Saturday members of the 9th, 10th, and 16th Batteries will proceed to Kowai Bush to shoot witlf the new 3.7 pack gpns, howitzers. Four guns will comprise a battery, and about 85 rounds will be fired." The artillerymen leave by the 9 a.m. Midland express, and return the same evening. Shooting teams from the C.Y.C. have been at Red cliffs practising for the big army rifle meeting. A Vickers gun, a Hotchkiss gun. and also an eight rifle team are being sent bv the C.Y.C. The Ist Battalion (Canterbury Regiment) is ako sending a number of teams. The First N.Z.M.R. (C.Y.C.) goes into camp at Burnham on March l?th. About 300 officers and men are expected to attend under Colonel P. F. Adams. The camp will be on foot, with the exception of one troop, which will be mounted for demonstration purposes.
