MORE AMERICAN SCANDALS. (nr CABLE— PBESS ASSOCIATIOH COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AMD N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received March 6th, 10.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 4. Two more Congressional investigations were launched to-day, with President Coolidgo also independently beginning an enquiry as a result of the Forbes indictment. It was persistently rumoured during the last few days that two mem fa era of the House of Representatives have been selling pardons, and paroles and other forms of clemency to Federal prisoners, including soldiers incarcerated tor military offences. The House passed a resolution to investigate and determine who the two members are, while President Coolidge lias requested the Department of Jusiioe immediately to collect evidence and place the matter before a Federal grand jury for the purpose of prosecution.
The House also passed a resolution for an enquiry into the affairs of the United stales Sliipping Board.
