The Australian-bred horse, Mart o War, will give an exhibition at the Thames Trotting Club's meeting to be held on Saturday. A new grandstand is in course of erection on the Wairarapa Racing Club's course at Tauhcrenikau. and will probably be in use at the club's Easter gathering. The late W. Howard's racino; stock is to be submitted at auction at Greenmeadows on Saturday. Eight horses will be offered, comprising Joy Ride, Kahikatea, Pitch. The Strand, Damon, Matu, Nokerakau, and the brood mare Penroe with a foal at loot bv Prince Willonvx.

The extra meeting granted to the "Waverley Racing Olub will be held on April 12th, and the programme has been framed on the eame lines as that for the meeting there on Labour Day, when £1250 was given in stakes. The California-Destroyer mare, Fireblight, was recently bought by Mr F. Armstrong, of Akitio, and will carry the Hasvke's Bay sportsman's oolours in cross-country events during the winter.

Mcntmorc, who was trained ai Riocarton some seasons ago, met with severp injuries during the hurdle raoe on- the first day of the recent Thames Meeting and was' subsequently destroyed. The two-year-old Kidlaw, by "WolawaCulprit, who won a couple of good races for Mr E. J. Watt at Randwick earlier this season, has been sold to a Melbourne sportsman and took up new quarters a fortnight ago. Sunny Spec, a fire-year-old gelding by Sunny Lake-Kinsale, won the second division of the Kensington Cup at the Kensington Meeting (Sydney) on February 23rd, but in the run-off was fourth. The prize-money for the race which was run in four divisions, amounted to £3OOO.

Zealander Konald Cameron won the March Steeplechase with' Gereldery, who was fifth in the early stages, and scored easily. Oopina fell and' Skyrocket Iran off. The Australian Cup aroused great interest Acoturak wae never further baok than fifth, and won well, with the favourite, El Dorado, third.' The* Cypher was pulled up, apparently having broken down. He got a bad knock, hut soon recovered, and is all right. It was afterwards found that he had met with interference at the turn into the straight. • The stewards decided that it was caused by Polynesian tiring and getting on the heels of Aocwak, who came back on to the Cypher. Accarak is owned by Mr 3. Chaffey, and is. trained by H. McCalman. He cost 500 guineas. W. Duncan, who rode the winner well, stated he had a good run, and speeded Accarak -up half a mile from home. RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. Ail the work was done on the plough yeeteoday, which was in first-class order. Gloaming opened proceedings with five furlongs, the last half mile in 50s. He carried a light-weight, but got through his task very easily.

Parody went well in a working- gallop of about a mile, with a mate for the last six furlongs.

Gamebag was going comfortably bsside Top Score in a live furlong sprint. Ballymena and Mustard Pot ran hone smarcly from the half mils post at the end of an easy circuit.

Starmist accompanied Scorn in an y five furlong spin. Pilliewinkie had the assistance of Bed Gown at the end of a working gallop of a mile.

Viewpoint was slightly better than Tharn--1 dslo in xuiming sis furlongs in 1m 17 i-6a. Martia end Clareina were -well matched over five furlongs, run ini lm 4fl. Caipontier accompanied Red Wink for bis furlongs in lm 18s. It was a good gallop from a standing start. Finoro. rattled over five furlongs in lm 2 4-js, and finished well. Purple Irk ran' five furlongs, tho last four in 51b, and Enare, who was very Bora, did easy pacing. Ardour galloped a mile by herself in lm 44 3-ss.
