"IF WINTER COMES."
The San Francisco "Bulletin" gays:—Of all the screen adaptations of popular novels, the height of perfection has been reached in the pictwiaation of "If Winter Comes." It is the world premiere of the photoplay and for those who Have read A. S. M. Hutchinson's story, the Unique and original characters of the novelist seem to live''and breath® before the eye, exactly as visualised by the mind while reading the book. For those who have notk. read the book the picture is entirely different and refreshing in its individuality. Probably th© best way to express just how the picture impressed me is that after I had intently viewed What I supposed to have been about six reels "of film I was surprised to leairn 1 hat the picture is twelve . reels in length. And there.. was not a dull moment in one inch of the 1200 feet of celluloid. It is impossible to imagine a more perfect -Mark Sabre, *tJie puzzle-headed, lovable idealist, than Percy Marmont. This actor's interpretation was without a flaw and while he has appeared', for years on the stage, as well as a numbar of times on the screen, he_ has never swayed an audience as he does in this role. "If Winter Comes" will oommence its eeason at the Grand Theatre on Saturday.
