ELECTRIC POWER FOR SOUTH CANTERBURY.
EASY WAY OUT OF THE IMPASSE (special to "the pbess.") WELLINGTON, March 3. Mr Hart, chairman of the South Canterbury Power Board, had an interview with the Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Public Works, to-day, regarding the position arising out of the failure to carry the proposals recently put before the district. It is understood that in so far as those districts that want the power are concerned, there is an easy way out of the impasse, as any portion of a district can raise a loan to reticulate the portion that is favourable to the scheme,
