MOTOR-CAR IMPORTATIONS.
REPLY TO SIR HAROLD BEAUCHAMP. (SPKCIAL.TO "TBM FBESS. ') WELLINGTON, March 3. Sir Harold Beauchamp's conclusions in regard to the alleged excessive importation of motor-cars are challenged by business men here and in the country. It is pointed out that a large number of the cars imported are replacements of worn-out and partially wornout cars, and many settlers now find that the ear is cheaper than the horse for the travelling they have to do.
