RUGBY LEAGUE. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The final meeting of last season's Management Committee was held on Saturday ingIt was decided tfiat the annual general meeting be held on March 22nd, the chairman and secretary to draft the annual report. . Correspondence was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Council in reference to the visit of the English team to the Dominion in August. The secretary reported that the information asked for by the Council had been forwarded. Mr R. J. Stirling wrote with reference to the visit of the English team, and stated that the visitors might commence their tour in the South Island. It was suggested that a selected team from the local clubs should play against the visitors. • It was decided to ask for further tion. It was agreed to suggest to the New Zealand Council the advisability of holding a conference at Wellington at Easter to discuss matters of interest, and that each centre be directly represented. It was resolved to bring before the various clubs and delegates the recommendation of the special meeting to form a strong local executive, and that the matter be decided at the annual meeting. The secretary of the Referees' Association intimated that the annual general meeting of the Association would be held on Wednesday, March 19th. The eecretary of the Hornby Club wrote regarding the loss sustained by the club during the summer through their training quarters being burned down, and that the annual meeting of the club had been fixed for to-morrow. The Hornby Club was granted permission to visit and play a Wellington team at Easter. Correspondence was received from Mr H. K. Smith, thanking the executive for their letter of appreciation, and the kindly references therein. The Council of the English Rugby League has appointed Mr J. H. Dannatt, of Hull, and Mr E. Osborne, of Warrington, as managers of the team to tour Australia and Kew Zealand. The first-named, who is chairman of the Council, will probably be the team manager, and as he has had a long experience with the code," and is very popular with the players, he should have a successful trip. Mr E. Osborne will act as secretarymanager of the tour, and he will be popular in New South Wales, as he was untiring in his attention to the Australians during their tour of England in 1923. Mr Osborne is also a successful business man, and is one of the solid supporters of the code.
