HOCKEY.

KAIAPOI CLUB. The annual meeting of the Kaiapoi Hockey Club was held last evening, Mr J. A. MeaJings presiding over a good attendaJicA of members. The report stated that the club was revived last year througil the coming into force of the Saturday ha.i'-holiday. with exceedingly satisfactory results, a large number of old players and new members joining. The thanxs of the club were extended to the Canterbury Hockey Association in accepting entries tor the junior and third grade teams in the Association competitions after the commencement of the season. Both the club teams had acquitted themselves well considering the disadvantages of starting lute, and no doubt with the experience gained last season and additional practice, the club- leama this year should, be well -up in the competitions. The thanks of the cub were accorded Mr A. J. Kich for the free use of a ground, and also Messrs B. Lamplough and H. Waters for work done to the playing ground. The report and balance-sheet, the latter showing a credit balance of £i 15s, were received and adopted. The election of officers, resulted:— Patron, tho Hon. D. Buddo, M.P. : president, Mr R. "Wylie; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Mcintosh, J. H. Bkckwell, and JG. Monk; club captain, Mr J. A. Healings; deputy-captain, the Rev. F. Robertson; treasurer, Mr G. Clarke; committee, Messrs J. B. Wylie, R W. Wylie, R. Eagle, H. Hemingway, and It! lA. Blakeley; delegate to Association Mr P. Martin. '
