RAILWAY PICNIC.
The annual picnic of the local members of the Railways Department was held at tho Riccarton Racecourse Reserve, there being a very large attendance, including the District Traffio Manager, Mr J. B. Mitchell, the Difitriot Engineer, Mr McCredie, and Messrs D. G. Sullivan, M.P., and J. McCombs, M.P. The support given by the commercial and business firms enabled the committee to make a generous distribution of toys to the juveniles. During the day Derrya Band provided a splendid programme of music. The various events resulted as follows:
