It is always easy to adduce proof of the axiom, "It Pays to Advertise." If there be any modern scoffer left, let him consider the case of a popular song which extols the virtues of a hereto* fore humble tropical fruit, says an American exchange. Comes now a telegraphic item from Nicaragua showing that it is shipping the United States a record crop "of 1,U00,0G0 stems of bananas. Other countries which export this fruit report rvastly increasing demands. Veracious chroniclers also record the fact that the price of bananas in JEastern cities is moving upward in apparently the exact ratio of the popularity of" the song. London ; too is alarmed at this latest American frivolity, the punning words of the American songsters. Meanwhile "Yes, Wo Have No Bananas," is apparently attaining world-wide immortality, the banana growers of South America are reaping increasing profits and the truth of the adage, "It Pays to Advertise," receives another telling demonstration.
