RANGIORA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
• ❖ - TKe monthly meeting of the Kangiora School Committee was held night, Mr C. \S r . Tyler presiding. The headmaster, in his monthly report, stated that the echool reopened with a good attendance. Since December 41 pupils, including 27 of last year's Standard VI., had been withdrawn, and 28 admitted, the roll number being 377. It was pleasing to note that out of 26 pupils who gained their proficiency certificates 22 were attending secondary schools. The chairman reported that the Railway Department had granted a special train for the annual picnic on Thursday, the 21st inst., to Amberley, leading Kangiora at 9.30 a.m. and returning at 6 p.m. It was decided to charge children Is, senior scholars and teachers Is Sd, and others 2a 3d. The offer of the Rangiora Silver Bajid of their services at the picnic was accepted. Mr Jennings reported that ho was meeting with euocess in his collecting.. .
