annual meeting. The 23rd anrrnal general meeting of the Christchurch Gun Club was held on Tuesday. There waa an excellent attendance, over which the president, Dr. Simpson, presided.

The retiring committao presented the following report:—The membership of the club has been fully maintained. A number of resignations ha.vo been received, but against that we have elected new members, and there is every prospect of our increasing 'the list during the incoming season. The committee meetings have 'been very well attended, matters of interest have been fully discussed, and the various decisions arrived at have met with general satisfaction. Our competitions have produced excellent shooting. The club clay pigeon championship -was held on April 7th, and after the completion of the last round a tie resulted between C. Truscott, J. Potts, J. Matthews and A. N. Turner. In the shoot-off C. Truscott won. The club live pigeon championship was held on August 4th. E. F. Stead and C. E, Brown tied', and in the shoot off the former won. 'flio sparrow championship was he'.d on September 15th, and a tie resulted between C. Truscott, C. Jamieson and W. Chisnall. In the shoot off C. Trnsoott won. The prizo for the highest aggregate in tho' three championships was won by C. Truscott, with A. N. Turner 1 point behind. On December 22nd the club held a series ol Christmas shoots. These created great interest, and the system of handicapping for the day provided an even distribution of the prizes. Our club was successful in securing tho first win for the Sparrow Shield, and also for the C.A.C. challenge cup. The Boswell gun competition produced a very keen match, and the winner was C. E. Brown,' with T. Potts runner-up. During tho season four of our members—Messrs E. !''■ Stead, P. Truscott, C. Truscott and D. F. Dennehy —went to the North Island to compete in New Zealand Championships. All put up good! performances, but wero not lucky enough to secure one of tho premier positions. For 1924 wo have been allotted tho right to hold the New Zealand sparrow championship. The financial position is very satisfactory. The balance sheet shows that', assets exceed liabilities by £939. Compared with last year's balanco sheet, it shows that we have made a profit of £53. The grounds are in excellent order. Various improvements have been carried out and there is no doubt that at present they are the finest shooting grounds in tho Dominion. They are increasing in value every year, and the bal-ance-sheet indicates only » portion of their real value. We desire to thank all those who gave trophies for competition, and also the handicapper, referee, official scorer, club captain, and other office bearers, who bo ably assisted in. making the season such a. successful one. Jamieson; joint handica-ppers, Messrs L. A. Shand arid C. Jamieson; official soorer, Mr G. N. Ormandy; club captain, Mr L. Moffat; hon. secretary, Mr A. N. Turner. Messrs W. E. Honey, D. F. Dennehy, R. S. Taylor, C. Jaioieson, E. Hammond, A. N. Turner were elected a sub-committee to draft a programme for the incoming season.

Messrs W. C. Prime and R. Simpson were elected members. Mr J. G. S. Holmes was& elected a life member in recognition of services rendered during the last few years. It was decided that in future - committee meetings be held on the' fiiat Monday every montli, at 7.30 pjn.
