o DOMINION CONFERENCE. ASSOCIATION TELEGEAJI.) AUCKLAND, January 31. A strong desire to help the naval authorities in obtaining recruits l'cr the New Zealand Division of tlie Eoyal Navy was expressed in several remits adopted by the Navy League Conference.
A suggestion from Canterbury that the conference consider the best means by which the different brunches throughout the Dominion could, when necessary, assist in recruiting, gave rise to considerable discussion, and the question was further considered during the visit of delegates to H-XI.S. Philomel in the afternoon, as a result of which the following resolution was adopted: '' This conference is much impressed with the valuable work and results achieved in the training-of boys for the New Zealand division, and by the physical standard of the recruits in course of instruction, and is unanimously of opinion that larger publicityshould be given to the excellent, vocations offered, and that the League branches should be authorised to assist as a recruiting agent.'-' The conference adopted remits recommending tlic unilicatiou of the League's _ educational work tlirous*liout the Empire, also espressiug; tho opinion that, the teaching oi' history, especially naval history, is ut vast importance to the children of the Dominion.
