MEXICO.
WANTS BRITISH RECOGNITION. LONDON, January 30. "Tho Times" believes that the Mexican Minister to Spain, Senor Nieto, who is at present in London, has been charged by President Obregon with tho mission of obtaining British recognition of his Government. Sonor Nieto has been instructed to emphasise the fact that, following tho example of tho United States, all Governments who broko off relations with Mexico have resumed them but Great Britain. Senor Nieto has already visited the Foreign Office. There is reason to belioVo that the British Government has declared its readiness to resume negotiations at the point where they were broken off by Mexico last year,, namely, tho preliminary establishment of commissions to investigate and adjudicate upon claims of Britishers who suffered loss or damage by Mexican revolutions and other causes. The Mexican contention is that Britis!, recognition of the Obregon Government, would give the last blow to tho Huerta movement, already grcatlj weakened, and would cstalish tho President more firmly than ever in power.
