Tho beautification of railway stations by the formation of flower gardens was advocated by Mr G. A. Green, Dominion secretary of the Nurserymen's Association at the last meeting of that body. He mentioned that the idea had already been carried out at several stations, particularly Rakaia, v in the South Island, but said he thought the idea could be extended to advantage. It would be of assistance if prizes were offered' for the best garden station en each section of the railways, and "he was sure the scheme would be successful if the raihvaymen were assisted :n the matter by the Department.
