A etrong wind dried the courts, sufficiently to enable the finals of the Australian tennis championships to bo played. J. O. Anderson's coolness and experience triumphed over the impetuous but at times brilliant E. E. ScElesmger. Tho .heavy court took the sting out of the farmers deliveries, but he aimed at keeping the ball in play, allowing his opponent to make mrstakea. Court-generalship won the title for tho visitor. The contest itself, considering tho circumstances, was Svortny ol tho final for the championship of any country. The doubles final was a triumph for Norman Brookes, who played with remarkable skill throughout. Anderson hacked him up splendidly./ They never ,once looked like being beaten Patterson and CHara Wood ore available for the Davis Cup, but Anderson Haa stated definitely that he is unable, owin<? to business treasons, to make the trip. Hawkes desires to settle down in business, and Hone, who is in the final year of his tn-ecGcal studies, is not available. The women's doubles final resulted in Misses Lane* and Akhurat beating Mrs O'Hara "Wood and Miss Le Mesurier, 7-5. 6-2.

In the final of tho "Women's Singles, Miss Lance defeated Mies Boyd, 6-3, S-6, 6-4. In the final of the Mixed Doub!©i, "Willard and Hiss Akhurst beat Hone and Misa Boyd, 6-3, 6-4.
