PIGEON PLYING.
The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club recently flew, a race from Marton, 48 birds taking 1 part, tlio property oi 11 owners. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 9.52 a.m. in fine weather and a westerly wind, which, changed to nor'-east as the birds nearcd home- The birds put tip fast times, very little timo dividing the prizewinners. The winner was P. Kingsford's Monte Cristo, which flew the distance of 284 miles 1597yda air line in 6hrs 57min l&sec. The following is the result: F. Kingsford's Monte Cristo . 1201 yds p.m. t!
