The Keserve.s Committee reported that Giving to the dangerous condition ot' tlie Woolston band rotunda, the concerts arranged to be given in Woolston Park had to be discontinued. The Financ Committee, to whom the matter was referred, stated that the cost of carrying out repairs to the rotunda was estimated at £OO, and the committer recommended that that amount be advanced to the Keservea Committee, so that the work can be done immediately. The Council agreed to the recommendation. Page's Boad. The Works Committee reported that the Heathcote County Council had intimated that it had entered into a contract for the sum of £7OB Gs for the channelling of Page's road, Shortland street to the big Bromley drain, and it proposed to debit the City Council and the New Brighton Borough Council witli their percentage of the cost. A Sanitary Matter. The Works and Sanitary Committee stated that a complaint had been received from the Department of Health with reference' to pans being missed in the Opawa district. In one particular instance the nuisance was so great that the Department gave the city surveyor permission to bury the nightsoil. The committee had given instructions to charge the contractor the cost incurred in connexion with the matter, and had drawn his attention to the neglect of his employees. Cr. C. Carr said that the service had been discontinued at places where nothing was-placed in the envelopes left by the sanitary men. The Mayor said tha;t Cr. Carr should report any such cases.

Cr. Carr said he had. Cr. W. 11. Winsor said the trouble was not with tho Council's men but with the contractor's men.
