PIGEON FLYING.

! The Canterbury Pigeon Flying' Club recently flew a race from Auckland. Thirty-eight birds were Gent, divided amongst 11 lofts. The birds were liberated by Mr H. Buckley at 12 noon in fine -weather and light southerly wind. Owing to the late liberation no birds arrived home till the following day, when seven owners timed in several birds. The winner was G-. Robertson's All Alone, which flew the distance of 480 miles 583 yards air line in Uhra 17min 40sec, after deducting hour 3of darkness. The following is theVelocity recorded by each owner's bird: G.
