A;set.s exceeded liabilities by £1309 S3 5<L The subscriptions, although they showed an increase over last year, did not nearly meet tho expenditure. The steeplechase n:-.ef.ing" was held on July 21st, and from a racing point of view. was a ?reat snicccs3. Owin:r to the weather the financial sido showed a 'smnl] profit. The Hunt regretted to record the denth of Mr M. J. Gocloy. The master, in bis opening remarks, stated that it took the best part of £6OO a year to run the Hunt. They must cut down expenses. Tho tax should be on the profits. The Hunt, had to take ail the risks. He niched:—"That the Government should be asked to put the totalisator tax on a graduated ■scale, thus: 1 per cent, per day up' to £IO,OOO, rising by 5 per cent, on ervery £3OOO until •it reaches a maximum of 2£ per cent., the resolution to be sent to the Hunt Association." • The motion was carried.
