"JUMBO" WELLS IN AUSTRALIA. Advice received by the Australian mail this week in connexion with, the second inter* national carnival .under the auepices of the League of New \ South Wales Wheelmen, shows that among the most prominent performers was F. ("Jumbo') Wells, a known New Zealand cyclist. In the match races (half mile, best two of three heats between Halpin, New South Wales, and Wells, New Zealand), Wells won the first heat oy inches after an exciting run (time, lain 6eec). In. the second heat Halpin won nearly a length in lmin 7sec, but the deciding contest saw Wells lead until entering the straight, when HalpLh challenged and won by half a length in the creditable time of lmin 5 2-ssec. SPRINGSTON ROAD RACE. Twenty-four entries have been jpceived for the Springs ton South Gala Club's 23-mile cycle read race,, for unregistered riders, tomorrow evening.
