MODEL YACHT CLUB.
On Saturday afternoon at Lake Victoria, Hagley Park, the Christchurch Model Yacht Club sailed off the first two heats of the four which constitute the president's race for four handsome prizes given by the pieiident, Mr Geo. Humphreys. The wind was moderate from the north-east and eight boats competed >■ in the heate, which were sailed under the supervision of the club commodore, Mr O. K. Ekensteen, and resulted as follows: First heat —W. Scbenkel's Alert, 8 points, 1; J. G. Firth's 0.E.0., 5 points, 2; C. A. Oakes's Emerald Isle, 3 points, 3; R. C. Mcintosh's Valmai, 2 points, i; L. A. Morrison's Dolphin, 1 point, 5. Second heat—Alert, 8 points, 1; Emerald Isle, 5 points, 2; Dolphin, 3 points, 3; 0.E.0., 2 points, 4; H. Bowlker'a Lily, 1 point, 5. Time for each heat—3l minutes. The cace will be concluded on Saturday.
