IMPERIAL SQUADRON.
ONLY LIGHT CRUISERS TO VISIT SOUTH ISLAND. {PBE3B ASSOCIATION TELXGBAJC.) WELLINGTON, December 5. The following is the probable programme for the visit of the Imperial Squadron of battle-cruisers to New Zealand : Battle-Cruisers. Wellington, arrive April 24th, leavo May 6th. Auckland, arrive May 10th, leave May 17th. Light Cruisers. Lyttelton (three ships), arrive May Ist, leave May 4th. _ Wellington (five ships), arrive May sth, leave May 6th. Auckland, arrive May 10th, leave May 17th. All the ships will leave Wellington on May 6th, so as to anchor off .Napier and Uisborne for a short time if the weather permits, but in any case the ships will steam close to both places. H.M.S. Duncdin will visit Port Chatmere from Ms>y Ist to 4th, and another light cruiser will visit i>mfi irom May Ist to 3rd. , TT The Minister of Derence, the Hon. Sir It Heaton Rhodes, expressed regret that the Admiraltv would not sanction a visit of the battle-cruisers to Lytte»ton or I>unedin. As a Southern member of Parliament, he was sorry, but the Government liad approached the Admiraltv on the subject, and it said tnat it could not agree to theee two big shins going to Lvttelton or Dunemn.
