ADDINGTON SCHOOL.

The monthly meeting' of the Adalngton School Committee was held on Tuesday, -when Mr Geo. "Wear presided. There were present Messrs Grieg, Barnett, Streeter, Fisk, Hewitt (secretary), Mrs Martin, and Mm Robb. Applications for the position of assistant master were dealt with, and it was decided to agree to the appointment of Mr Wm. A. Pierr. Correspondence was received regarding the school excursion, notifying that the excursion trains on Friday leave Christchurch at 7.52 and 8.10 a.m. A letter regarding an ambulance cupboard waa dealt with, but a supply is already in the school. A sub-committee was appointed to deal with tie matter, as a second cupboard would bo useful in the infant room. The headmasters report showed an average of 773 for the past four weeks, with a roll number of 816. Miss McClure had left during ( the month, and her place had been taien by Miss Griffin. The Christmas tree was to be supplied as usual, a sum of money being voted for the occasion. Tests for swimming certificates will be be'.d during this month, and sports will also be held before December 20th. The Standard VI. proficiency examination will be conducted by Mr Brock, senior inspector, on Monday, December 10th. The library committee reported that a new supply of books had been eclectcd, a suitable addition being made to the c'.ass libraries.
