SICK BENEFIT SOCIETY. The annual meeting of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants Union SicJt Benefit Society waa held in the Guard's Room, Ghristchurch, on Monday, Mr G. P. Turnbull being in the chair. 'Xho annual report, '""which was adopted, stated that the death benefit fund had » jcredit balanco of £136 169 6d. The sum ox £lO7 10a &d had been paid out during l the year. The receipts in the sick fund wero £551 as 3d, and the expenditure £469 13s 3d. The membership was 462. The society had lost by death during the year Messrs E, Quartermain, E. Sturgess D. Innea and H. S. Marlow. The election, of officers resulted as follows— President, Mr G. P. Turnbull; vice-pre-sident, Mr P. S. Bonnington; secretary, Mr H. Chaplin; eick visito», Mr -J. T. Robbins; trustees, Messrs T. Their, J. G. Kettle and J. W. Toomsy; auditors, Messrs E. Cameron. W. H, Burrell and H. E. Stackhouse; committee, Messrs R. Withel, R. A. Walker, H. E. Stackhouse, E. Hill, T. E. Madden, J. H. Mattison and J. Jennings. The past' president, Mr S. C. Keech, thea presented the chairman with tho society'a medallion for his services during the p&et year, and said he trusted hei would still give of hi 3 best to the work. A vote of thanks to the outgoing committee and chairman brought the meeting l to a close. I
