SODDEN DEATH OF INFANT.

A baby girl, Margaret Jessamine Nicholls, aged 10 weeks, died suddenly yesterday afternoon. The infant's parents reside at Wanganui, and iihey are visiting the parents of the child's mother at 527 Seddon street, Sydenham. The child bled from the nose last Friday, and was taken to Dr. Currie for treatment. Subsequently it seemed quite well, and yesterday afternoon at 2.30 p.m. it was put to sleep after having been fed. At 1.45 p.m., when the mother went to it, the child was found to be dead. An inquest will be held at 3 p.m. to-day. Christopher Clinton, single, aged 62 years, died suddenly yesterday. He lived in a hut behind Harris's store on Stanmore road. Clinton had been in indifferent health for some time, and had been attended by Dr. Orchard, who was able to certify that death was due to natural causes. (PES 3 3 ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) WELLINGTON, December 4. A serious accident occurred to a storehand at "the Petone railway workshops to-day. A young man named Tobin, a resident of Korokoro, was handling a large iron plate when the stack suddenly collapsed, almost covering him. When extricated it was found that one leg was crushed to pulp and almost severed, and the other badly smashed. He was admitted to hospital in a serious condition.
