The establishment of a depot for the curing and smoking of trout at Rotorua has been decided upon. Anglers who visit Lake Taupo speak in high terms of praise of the facilities offered by the Government for the curing and smoking of trout. The depot which was established some years ago by the Internal Affairs Department, and it under the management of Mr G. Reid, has proved a great convenience to fishermen who wish to send their catches away. Representations were recently made that similar arrangements should apply to those who angle in the Rotorua lakes and streams. The work at Rotorua will be in charge of Mr F. Moorhouae, conservator of fisheries and game.
