ART SALE.
MISS FRASER'S PAINTINGS. A collection of paintings by Miss Jimsie C. Fraser, a well-known edin artist, may now be viewed at the rooms of Jones, McCrostie Company, Ltd., and will be sold by auction on Wednesday afternoon next. Miss Fraser specialises in New Zealand scenery, and her pictures in the collection cosver a wide range of work. The beauties of the south find full expression, and many arresting paintings are to be seen of the great scenic glories of the southern lakes and mountains. Lefcidtna pictures shown are "Moonlight, Stewart Island,?' "The Remarkables, Wakatipu," "Morning, Manapouri," "On Lake Wakatipu," "Morning Grey, Dunedin," "Moonlight, Moeraki," and "Evening, Lake Wanaka." There are 44 pictures altogether in the collection, and each one possesses its own individual charm. During the visit of the Prince of Wales to Dunedin, Miss Fraser presented to H.R.H. a characteristic painting of New Zealand sceifery, and received frou' him a very sincere letter of acceptance and thanks. la addition to Mias Fraser's paintings there will also be sold the same afternoon two paintings by Mr Sydney L. Thompson, "Old Whare, Kairaki," and "Torn Sail." These are both in Mr Thompson's earlier style, and are certainly most charming and artistic compositions.
