The possibility of an English professioiial cricketer of high repute being engaged to come to' Auckland as a coach to the clubs in the city was mentioned at the annual meeting of the, Auckland Cricket Association last week by tbe president[Mt F. The negotiations were entirely informal, but they were serious, and it was found possible to agree to that gentleman's terms. It had already been considered by. individuals and the Management Committee, and it Wss very probable that negotiations would be opened up with him. If his terms- were as stated in his letter there were hopes. Of course, any engagement would not take place until next 6eason, but 'if -the A-C.A. v gob him it would have a professional player of very high repyte.
