CASUALTIES.
An inquest was held on Thursday before Mr J. Dodds, J.P., actingCoroner, on the body of Robert Pollock, which was found hanging to the limb ora tree in the Hanmer State Plantation on Wednesday by one of a search party. The deceased had. been missing since the previous evening. The evidence was to the effect that the deceased had been both rational and cheerful lor several days prior to the act. The jury returned a verdict of suicide whilst in an unsound state of mind.
John Hand, a middle-ageu man, -residing at 44 Celia street, Eedcliffs, was thrown from a tramcar yesterday, while it was negotiating the points in the vicinity of the Heathcoto Arms Hotel. Hand was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from a severe gash above the right eye. He was treateoj as an out-patient, and discharged. J. Ferguson, an employee at Baker's Circus, which is at present at Shirley, was thrown from a horse yesterday afternoon. He was conveyed, to the Christchurch Hospital, where, he was treated as an .out-patient, for injuries to his right arm. He was subsequently discharged. •
