Salvation Army. Two interesting addressoa will be given at the Salvation Army Sail to-morTow, that in the morning being "L.S.D. or a Blank Cheque," and in the evening "A Great Race Meeting." 'On Friday next the annual Bah will be held. Organ BecitaL Music-lovers in Lyttelton will have an opportunity to-morrow of hearing another organ recital by Mrs Vera Livingstone. The recital is at the Methodist Church at 8 p.m. Seamen's Institute. The Social Hall at the Seamen's Institute was filled on Thursday evening by the seamen from the four large overseas steamerß in port. The concert was given by the Lyttelton Ladies' Guild, and by the response shown it was greatly appreciated by the seamen. Those contributing items were:—Misses Prances and Florence Buist, Joyce Fowler, Nellie and Mary Pitcaithly, Rugg, Mrs M. J. Miller, Malcolm Miller, Messrs Crippen, Terns, and Herd, and sea--men also gave musical items. Mr M. J. Miller presided, and Mrs Pitcaithly and Miss Bagg acted as accompanists. Supper was served by the ladies at the close of the concert. Magistrate's Court. Messrs F. G. Norton and F. Knights, JJP.'s, presided at the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court yesterday. Two first offenders for drunkenness were each convicted and fined ss. Norman L. Peters, a steward in the Otarama, was charged with having assaulted George Henry Thomas. Sergeant 5. McHolm said that on the night of September Srd the accused and another man named Band had supper at Thomas's shop. As they were leaving Band and Thomas had an argument, and Peters took the part of Band and assaulted Thomas. When approached on the subject he had admitted having committed the assault. The Bench warned Peters against taking the law in his own hands. Ho would be fined £1 and costs. Yacht Club Dance. The second annual social and dance of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor-Boat Club, held in the Club Hall, was a most enjoyable affair, there being a large attendance of members and friends. A feature was made of the decorations which, carried out in ijie club colours, red and black, were most effective. The committee responsible for the arrange ments were:—Capt. B. Hatchwell (Commodore), Capt. Dilner, Messrs C. Durham, M. Smith, T. Harkess, E. Cornish, B. Collins, and 0. D. Harkess. ' Trophies won during the past season were presented by the Commodore as follows: Motor-boat section, Tuohy Cup, W. D. ter (motor cruißer Minnehaha), W. A. Millar (lan), L. Neil (Seamew), B. A. Bhind (Motorata). Yacht section, O. D. Harkess (Waimana), W. A. Miller (Annis), F. Collins (Kia Ora), A. Henderson (Shadow), K. A. Scarvell (Vinetta), S. Sinclair (Linnet), —. Jeffries (Bettina).
