TO-DAY'S REPRESENTATIVE MATCH. CANTERBURY V. WAIfcARAPA. Csnteibury will play their second last representative match against Wairarapa. on the cvul at Lancaster Park this afternoon. To date they have played seven matches, frre of which they have won. Canterbury baa scored 94 points, while 51 have been registered against them. ASHBURTON SUB-UOTON. MARISTS V. ASHBURTON. As a preliminary to the big match in Christchurch next Saturday, when Marists and Otago University, the champion teams of Christchurch and Dunedin respectively, meet at Park, the Chrwtchurch champions have been given a match with hte Aahbuxton County representatives. Xhe local team has been training assiduously and each man is very fit. It is expected that unless the visitors can put their strongest team, in the field Ashburton will probably defeat them. Inoluued in the local team are J. Horgan, S. Maxwell, F. Kennedy and D. Fitzgerald, who secured their Canterbury caps on the West Coast tour. If C, St. George and D. Dennehy had not been * required to play for Canterbury today., they would also lurve been in the team, which was unbeaten last - season in representative games. Among the team defeated were Canterbury B, South Canterbury and Peninsula. The visitors will be without the services of a number of their best players, including Deidrich, McCarthy, McCleary and Petersen. However, a very good game should be witnessed.
