ELLESMERE GUN CLUB.
The EJlcsmere Gun Club held a 21-birJ sparrow match in a paddock lent by Mr Nairn, at Lakeside, Jor three t'.ophies prascnled by Meters H. and J. Winchester. Considerable interest was taken in the match, nineteen shooteiis facing the traps. Owing to the bad light, the shooting was not up to the average standard. Following are the scores: —W- Qv.iiiicy (19ydsj and It. Thian (18yds) shot 18 birds each', and sWi o££ for first and ecccnd trophies. W. Quigtcy winning on the first round. S. Vines, F. Frainpton, and F. Graham (all off 20vds). with It kills each, shot off lor third piizej Vines winning on the first round. As the rules o! llie club provide - that any shooter who wins a troohy cannot win the swecpstuie, it Graham" and F. Fntmpton divided first and second money. W. L. )Jona,!d' (17yds), -with lti kills, took third money. The afternoon's sport was brought to a close with a six-bi.-d sweep, eleven shooters competing, all off lSyds. F. Alexander W. Winchester, and R, Thian shot all their birds and divided the sweepstake.
