The English Lawn Tennis Association, having declined to compete in the Olympic Games owing to ex-enemy players participating, the South African 1 Lawn Tennis Union, which is affiliated with the English Tennis Association, discussed the question, and decided to ask the English authorities for a free hand, and intimated that if permission were refused it would abide by the decision of the English Association.
