Among the letters dealt with by the Nelson City Council the other evening (relates the "Mail") was one from the Department of Agriculture, asking if the Council had any objection to rooks being added to the list of injurious birds. "We have no rookß here, have we?" asked the Mayor; and the question, coming immediately after the discussion on the gas bills, caused some laughter.
