Bad < writing l'ed to an amusing comedy in Paris recently. In the Chamber of Deputies M. , Gast pointed out a curious error 0 in tho official report of one of his speeches., He had said -that M. Cheron, the Minister of Agriculture, had ''a magnificent' but seductive voice," using the word "verbe" for voice. In transcription this word was badly written, and in printing had been read as "ventre," so that Gaat'i speech read that M. Cheron had "a magnificent but seductive stomach." la point of fact, M. Cheron is a" small man, quit' decvoid of anything approaching a "corporation," and the Chamber enjoyed the jokfc all the more when the President of the Chamber iiaid he thought, the correction was hardly necessary.
