The Council of the Royal Society announces that it has decided to use the linger part of Sir Alfred Yarrow's gift of £IOO,OOO in founding professorships, the holders of which will be expected to devote their whole time to scientific reaearoh, except that they may pJVe a limited course of instructioit in the subjects of their research to advanced students,.
