* MONTHLY MEETING. The Christchurch Fire Board met last night. Present —Messrs A. WiLioms (.chairman}, J, It. Cameron, P. H. Harris, H. Holland, E. Ji. Andrews, K. W. Itobinson and 8.. E, Kusbridge. The otiairman of the Riccarton Bush Trustees wrote thanking ihe Hoard for itfi offer to protect the Uuah from lire, it was can lor tenders for an Soft petrol-electric turntable iixe escape ladder. The superintendent reported that the colls received during the month totalled 14, i being lake alarms $ malicious), 7 chimney fires, one outside district caL, and 2 actual tires in the city. 'lne estimated fire loss was £585 and tha insurance was £BOO.
